Oregon Shores Conservation Coalition –  oregonshores.org

NWWSC regional conservation partner. In 1967, Oregonians took the extraordinary step of declaring that the entire shoreline was reserved for the public. The citizen group that campaigned for our famed “Beach Bill” became the Oregon Shores Conservation Coalition. For over 40 years, OSCC has led the fight to protect the Beach Bill, maintain public access to our shoreline and conserve our coastal resources. Consider joining and donating to a great cause! Director Lexie Hallahan has been a mile adopter and supporter of OSCC for nearly 30 years.

Coastwatch Program – oregonshores.org

NWWSC local conservation partner.  Mile adopters volunteer to steward a mile of the Oregon coast. Seasonally they walk their mile and make a thorough report of it. These reports are then sent to the coordinator who compiles the information, sends it on to regional coordinator where it can be reviewed and assessed as necessary. Thanks to these passionate citizens, every foot of Oregon’s shoreline is under observation. Any number of people can adopt a mile, and the goal not yet achieved—is to have at least two watchers on every mile. Consider stewarding a mile along the Oregon Coast!

In past seasons, Surfrider Coordinator Pete Stauffer has given a beach ecology teaching during our Women’s Week Retreats as well as every summer supporting our program with valuable Surfrider educational pieces.
